On 15th July 2020, Maisie Cook and Alice Copland, Forward Thinking, attended Bosnia Heritage Foundation and East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre’s Srebrenica Genocide Commemoration.

Bosnia Heritage Foundation is a London-based independent community-led project which works to raise awareness about the 1995 Srebrenica genocide through trips and excursions and to deliver charitable and educational projects inside Bosnia-Herzegovina.

This online event brought together genocide survivors, politicians, artists and others in order to remember the victims of the genocide 25 years on.

Speakers reflected on their experiences of the genocide, and also spoke to the current situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and potential ways to improve the situation there moving forward.
