Online Community Meeting, March 2023

On 30 March 2023, Forward Thinking facilitated a roundtable discussion with key Muslim community representatives from London and the North West of England to discuss the future direction of the UK programme.Participants emphasised the value that they find in Forward Thinking’s unique role in facilitating dialogue between communities and the Establishment. These dialogues ensure that community perspectives are fed upwards on a range of important issues in the absence of other channels to do so.The group also identified potential key areas of focus moving forward. These include broadening existing conversations to discuss issues such as social cohesion which underlie many challenges faced by Muslim communities in the UK.Participants also expressed support for our work in developing the political literacy and access to political life of young British Muslims through our Pathways into Politics programme and Youth Policy Network.
