Launch of Youth Policy Network in London, 26 March

On 26 March 2022, Forward Thinking held the first meeting of our newly established Youth Policy Network. This Network provides opportunities for young British Muslims to work collaboratively to influence policy change relating to matters identified by the group. The Network is for 18-30-year-old Muslims who have completed participation in our Pathways into Politics programme. The group discussed policy issues which are of importance to them and provided an opportunity to define the aims and objectives of their project, as well as practical next steps for moving forward. To help the group connect and understand their shared concerns, Mohamed Okda led a session that focused on identifying the shared values, purpose and conduct of the group. Mohamed is a political consultant with extensive business experience, who is active on interfaith issues, crisis mediation and assessment, as well as the economics of conflict and religious–secular dialogue. He is also the founder of Insight into Crisis
