Youth Policy Network Meetings, January, February and May 2023

On 7 February and 9 May 2023, Forward Thinking facilitated online meetings with our Youth Policy Network. The Youth Policy Network brings together young British Muslims from across the UK who have been involved in our Pathways into Politics programme. The group seek to lead their own initiative to address challenges they face within society due to their faith identity. Through their work, they aim to help to ensure that the next generation do not face the same discrimination in society that they have experienced.Participants discussed the goals that they were looking to achieve through their project, as well as the best approach to employ. They also identified several outputs from their work, including media outputs, as well as the audience they would be looking to address. In addition, they established subgroups to organise their work moving forward and met separately in these groups to outline next steps.The group are enthusiastic to continue to develop their project moving forward and we will arrange further meetings with the Network in the coming months.
