On Thursday 8st April, Forward Thinking held an online discussion with Eli Hazan, Foreign Affairs Director of The Likud Party. Perspectives were shared on the outcome of Israel’s 23rd March election, as well as recent political developments. The challenges facing the ‘pro Netanyahu’ and ‘anti-Netanyahu’ political blocs in their attempts to form a working coalition government, as well as the possibility of a fifth election if no government can be formed were discussed.

Key political trends within Israel were also explored including the entry of the Religious Zionist party into the Knesset and the potential pivotal role the Islamist Ra’am party may play in the establishment of a new government.
