A gathering of British Muslim community leaders with Dr Mustafa Barghouti at Finsbury Park Mosque, 27 June 2025

On 27 June, during a visit to London facilitated by Forward Thinking, Dr Mustafa Barghouti met with a diverse group of Muslim leaders representing a wide cross-section of British Muslim communities at a gathering organised by Forward Thinking, the Cordoba Foundation, and the Muslim Council of Britain at Finsbury Park Mosque.

The meeting provided a unique opportunity for Dr Barghouti to share his assessment of the humanitarian situation on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank. Participants discussed the impact of the conflict on Muslim communities in the UK, and their efforts to support an end to the conflict. The discussion acknowledged a concerning trend of growing Islamophobia worldwide, which we will seek to address in future conversations with representatives from British Muslim communities.
