Annual Report 2011-2012

Our Annual Report 2011-12 details our activities across our programmes over the course of this year. Below is a message from our Chairman, William Sieghart CBE:

It’s been another extraordinary year for Forward Thinking. The ramifications of the Arab Spring have brought new demands and new opportunities for our hard-working team. As well as our Nyon Process series of conferences, developments include supporting the new governments and emerging political parties of Tunisia and Egypt in the areas of economic development, political power sharing and engagement with Europe’s political representatives.

To help us with these new challenges we are delighted that we are now receiving funding support from the EU, the Swiss, Norwegian and German governments to add to our individual and foundation donors. Thanks to these developments we are embarking on an ambitious programme for the next twelve months building on the achievements of 2012. Combined with our core Middle East programme and our work in the UK, this puts Forward Thinking at the forefront of relations between the Western and Islamic worlds. I know I speak on behalf of all the trustees of Forward Thinking in congratulating the team on another year of astonishing effectiveness, hard work and commitment. We are all very proud of the way they have put Forward Thinking on the map.
