Meeting with the House of Commons International Development Committee and Sudanese Civil Society Leaders, 19 June 2025
On 19 June 2025, we convened an online meeting with the House of Commons International Development Committee and Sudanese civil society leaders to discuss the escalating humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
The discussion highlighted what the UN has called the worst humanitarian crisis of the century, with 25–30 million internally displaced and 4.5 million refugees in neighbouring countries.
Participants raised urgent concerns, including the collapse of the healthcare system (with 80% of hospitals non-functional), the exclusion of women from peace talks, and insufficient international action. They called for immediate humanitarian airdrops, safe aid corridors, and the meaningful inclusion of women in decision-making.
