Parliamentary Roundtable: Confronting Islamophobia and Far-Right Extremism in the UK, 4 November 2025

On 4 November 2025, we convened a roundtable in Westminster on “Confronting Islamophobia and Far-Right Extremism: Strengthening Policy and Community Resilience.”

The meeting brought together community leaders, faith representatives, civil society organisations, and policymakers to address the alarming rise in anti-Muslim hatred and far-right mobilisation across the UK. Participants warned that Islamophobia has become pervasive in public life—fuelled by disinformation, divisive political rhetoric, and a weakening of trust in institutions.

Drawing on examples from Tower Hamlets, Leicester, and Peterborough, the discussion highlighted both the damaging impact of this hostility and the resilience of local communities working to counter division. Speakers called for urgent, credible engagement between government and Muslim communities to rebuild trust and ensure consistent responses to all forms of hate and extremism.

We will continue to facilitate engagement between policymakers and British Muslim communities, supporting inclusive dialogue, informed policymaking, and practical cooperation to strengthen social cohesion across the UK.
